Scholarships are a vital resource for funding your college education and reducing out-of-pocket costs. At WSU Vancouver, we are committed to making higher education accessible. The campus regularly awards millions of dollars in scholarships and academic tuition waivers to hundreds of students, with average awards providing significant support toward tuition and fees.

By completing the WSU General Scholarship Application, you may become eligible for a wide variety of funding opportunities. While academic performance is a key factor, it is not the only criteria for selection. Many awards consider academic interests, unique talents, financial need, community service, leadership experience, and career ambitions. Whether you are a current student or a prospective Coug, you are encouraged to apply regardless of your current grade point average.

WSU scholarships and awards

WSU Vancouver students are eligible for both systemwide and campus-specific scholarships. Submit the general application every year to ensure full consideration for all available funding.

The following awards are automatically granted to qualifying students upon admission to WSU Vancouver:

  • Vancouver Academic Achievement Award Secure your future at WSU Vancouver with the Vancouver Academic Achievement Award. High-achieving Washington residents with a 3.8 GPA can earn $12,000 over four years. No separate application is required apply for admission to be automatically considered for this merit-based scholarship.
  • Vancouver Transfer Achievement Award Maximize your education at WSU Vancouver with the Vancouver Transfer Achievement Award. High-achieving transfer students with a 3.6 GPA or higher can reduce tuition costs while finishing their degree. Discover eligibility requirements and start your journey toward a bachelor’s degree today.
  • Western Undergraduate Exchange Save $12,000 annually at WSU Vancouver through the Western Undergraduate Exchange. This tuition reduction program supports eligible out-of-state students pursuing undergraduate degrees.   • PDX Tuition Advantage Eligible Oregon residents from Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties can pay in-state tuition at WSU Vancouver. Non-WSU scholarship opportunities

Many external organizations offer funding. Students should proactively research and apply for these additional resources.

  • Vancouver Rotary Graduating high school seniors and WSU Vancouver students can apply for the Vancouver Rotary Scholarship. This award supports certificates, associate, and bachelor’s degrees. View deadlines and eligibility for this service-oriented community scholarship.
  • Udall Scholarship Pursuing a career in the environment or tribal policy? Apply for the $7,000 Udall Scholarship. Open to sophomores and juniors committed to service and leadership. Review application requirements and campus deadlines.
  • Peak Credit Union Peak Credit Union members can apply for annual foundation scholarships. Submit transcripts and a recommendation letter to qualify. This member-exclusive award helps cover tuition for higher education. Apply by the March 15 deadline.
  • Passport to College Washington residents who were in foster care or experienced homelessness can receive tuition and living support via Passport to College. Benefit from priority state aid and campus resources. View eligibility for students under age 22.
  • Community Foundation Residents of Southwest Washington can access multiple scholarships through one universal application at the Community Foundation. Awards are based on merit, need, and community ties. Check the spring application window.
  • Clark County Fair Are you a past or present Clark County Fair exhibitor? Apply for the Clark County Fair Association Exhibitor Scholarship. Open to students active in 4-H, FFA, and Grange Youth. Learn about application steps and eligibility for local fair participants.
  • WWIN Star Scholars The WWIN Star Scholars Program awards up to $5,000 annually for Washington women pursuing their first bachelor’s degree. Total support can reach $20,000. Check eligibility for this renewable scholarship and apply by the April deadline.
