Affordable Education for Oregon Residents

The PDX Tuition Advantage provides a significant financial bridge for students living in the Portland metropolitan area who wish to pursue their degrees across the river. Through this program, eligible residents of Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties pay in-state tuition rates at WSU Vancouver. By eliminating the out-of-state tuition gap, students can potentially save more than $17,000 annually while accessing the resources of a Tier 1 research university.

This initiative supports undergraduate, transfer, and post-baccalaureate students in reaching their academic goals without the burden of non-resident costs. Whether you are beginning your college journey or returning to finish a degree, the PDX Tuition Advantage ensures that high-quality education remains accessible and affordable for our neighbors in Oregon.

Program Limitations:

  • Applies exclusively to enrollment at WSU Vancouver.
  • Cannot be combined with other WSU Vancouver tuition discount programs.
  • Not applicable to graduate, international, or study abroad students.

Application Process

  1. Submit an Application for Admission Complete your application to become a student at WSU Vancouver. Apply for admission
  2. Verify Your Residency After receiving admission, submit the official verification form. You must provide documentation of your current Oregon address. Submit this form at least three weeks before your intended start term. PDX Tuition Advantage Verification Form
  3. Monitor Your Email The Admissions Office will notify you of your eligibility status via email. Once approved, the tuition adjustment applies to your student account automatically.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the PDX Tuition Advantage, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Maintain primary residency in Clackamas, Multnomah, or Washington county for at least 90 days prior to enrollment.
  • Meet all standard WSU Vancouver admission requirements.
  • Enroll in a minimum of nine credits per term.
  • Be a degree-seeking undergraduate, transfer, or post-baccalaureate student.

Maintaining Your Award

The PDX Tuition Advantage remains active as long as you continue to meet the following standards:

  • Remain enrolled at WSU Vancouver.
  • Maintain an enrollment of nine or more credits per term.
  • Continue to reside in Clackamas, Multnomah, or Washington county.
