Tuition and Registration Refunds

Understanding the Withdrawal Process

WSU Vancouver provides a structured refund process for students who find it necessary to cancel their enrollment. A current term withdrawal occurs when a student drops or withdraws from all classes at WSU Vancouver within a specific timeframe, including any online courses. To ensure a smooth transition and maximize your tuition adjustment, please review the schedules and deadlines associated with official withdrawal.

Tuition, operating, and student services and activities fees are refunded in full, minus a small administrative fee, if you officially cancel your enrollment before the sixth day of classes. For students enrolled in sessions shorter than the regular 16 week term, tuition adjustments are prorated based on the specific dates and duration of enrollment.

Refund Adjustment Schedule

If your enrollment is officially withdrawn on or after the start of the term, the following adjustments apply to your tuition and fees:

Week of WithdrawalTuition Adjustment
Weeks 2 through 380% adjustment
Week 470% adjustment
Weeks 5 through 660% adjustment
Weeks 7 through 850% adjustment
Week 940% adjustment
Week 10 and after0% adjustment
Days or weeks of class holidays or breaks are not included in this adjustment schedule.

Administrative Fee

An administrative fee of 5% of the assessed tuition and mandatory fees, or $100 (whichever is less), is charged for any withdrawal after the term begins. Additional charges may apply for benefits or services already received.

Adjustments for students receiving financial aid are calculated according to a modified schedule provided by the Federal Financial Aid Office.

Summer Session Refunds

Summer session fees are refunded in full if you officially drop courses or withdraw enrollment prior to the specific refund deadline dates. After the deadline for each course, no refund or credit for tuition is provided for course withdrawals.

Fees are adjusted for drops and adds during the refund period only. After the refund deadline, tuition cannot be transferred from a withdrawn course to an added course. Summer session audit fees follow the published refund deadline dates, while faculty or staff registration fees are non-refundable.
