Standard Computer Configurations

Empowering Your Workspace with Certified Hardware

The Information Technology department at WSU Vancouver provides standardized hardware solutions to ensure all employees have the high-performance tools necessary for modern academic and administrative work. Our Work Computer Program prioritizes mobile versatility to support a flexible work environment, offering powerful laptop configurations that handle demanding tasks with ease. By selecting these vetted models, WSU Vancouver ensures seamless technical support, enhanced security, and reliable performance across the campus infrastructure.

Whether you are receiving a device through the lifecycle replacement process or purchasing new equipment for your department, these standard configurations represent the optimal balance of value and capability. While these units are equipped to handle the vast majority of university applications, VIT is available to provide custom quotes for specialized hardware needs or specific component upgrades.

Work Computer Program Laptops

To better prepare WSU Vancouver employees for remote work, the Work Computer Program (formerly the Lifecycle Replacement Program), with some exceptions, only offers laptops. If IT has determined that the computer currently assigned to you is in need of replacement, it will be replaced with one of the laptops listed below and there will be no cost to your department.

If you are looking to purchase a computer outside of the Work Computer Program, approximate prices are listed. Please note: prices fluctuate, so please email van.evita@wsu.edu for a current quote rather than relying on prices listed here. We encourage you to discuss computer purchases with your department head prior to contacting VIT about purchases.

Though these computers are quite powerful, if you have a specialized application that requires high-end hardward, you may need an upgrade over what is listed here. If you choose any of those upgrades for an WCP computer, that portion will need to be paid by your department, so approval will be necessary. If you have any questions or requests for guidance when making your choice, please ask us by emailing EVITA.
