Tech Services: HelpDesk

Our HelpDesk provides technical consultation and troubleshooting to keep your workflow uninterrupted. Assistance includes:

  • Computer software and hardware advice
  • Hardware repair and wireless connectivity troubleshooting
  • Email setup and account password resets
  • Virus and malware removal
  • File transfers and data backups
  • Loaner laptops for faculty and staff

Network ID (NID)

Your Network ID is your primary credential for accessing WSU resources.

  • Activation: Once hiring steps are complete, check your personal email for an activation link.
  • Management: Update multi-factor authentication or change your password at account.wsu.edu.

WSU Wireless Crimson

Enjoy secure, high-speed internet across all WSU campuses.

  1. Select WSU Wireless Crimson from your device settings.
  2. Log in with your Network ID and password.
  3. Trust the security certificate if prompted for a seamless, encrypted connection. Note: Use WSU Guest Crimson for visitors only; it is not a secure network for staff.

Communication and Collaboration

Email Accounts

Access your official WSU email at email.wsu.edu. This is the primary channel for university business. For mobile setup on iPhone or Android, refer to the WSU Knowledge Base.

Email Security

Protect your data by practicing email safety. Never click suspicious links. Forward potential phishing attempts to abuse@wsu.edu.

Microsoft Teams and Zoom

  • Zoom: The primary platform for video, audio, and phone conferencing.
  • Teams: Use this for instant messaging, file sharing, and departmental collaboration. Request a new team at its.wsu.edu/microsoft-teams.

Software and Learning Tools

Office 365 and OneDrive

Install Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on up to five devices via office365.wsu.edu. Utilize OneDrive for 10 GB of secure cloud storage to collaborate on documents in real-time.

Canvas Learning Management System

WSU uses Canvas for all courseware. Log in at canvas.wsu.edu using your NID. For technical instructional support, join the Zoom IT Helpdesk.

Videoconferencing Services

Vancouver Videoconference Services provides high-definition audio and video support for classrooms and distance meetings, ensuring participants across the state can interact effectively.

Required Wellness Checks

Employees with telework agreements must complete a Computer Wellness Check. This ensures your university-issued equipment remains secure and updated.
