Getting involved is one of the best ways to feel at home on campus. At WSU Vancouver, you can choose from more than 60 student clubs and organizations designed to help you express your creativity, advocate for change, and connect with fellow VanCougs who share your hobbies.

Whether you are looking to explore academic interests, participate in recreation, or engage in community service, these organizations offer a vital platform for growth. From the Fiber Arts Club and WSU Gamers to the Tennis Club and Maker 3D Club, there is a group ready to welcome you. Use these spaces to make friends, stay active, or start something entirely new.

Learn how to start a club

1. Check existing organizations

Before starting something new, review the list of Registered Student Organizations on WSU Involve to be sure a similar group doesn’t already exist. If you don’t see an organization that matches your goals, continue to the next step.

See if there is a club for you

2. Build your membership and find your people

A minimum of three currently enrolled WSU Vancouver students is required to establish a Registered Student Organization. All members and officers must be enrolled WSU students.

3. Secure a faculty or staff advisor

Each organization must have an advisor who is a WSU Vancouver faculty or staff member. Advisors provide guidance and help organizations navigate university policies.

4. Complete officer training

At least two officers must complete the Registered Student Organization Orientation before the organization can be approved. Contact van.slil@wsu.edu for upcoming training dates.

5. Draft your constitution

Your constitution outlines your organization’s name, mission, and purpose, along with policies and procedures for membership, leadership roles, meetings, elections, and other operations unique to your group. A constitution template is available. Contact the Student Involvement team to get started.

6. Register on WSU Involve

Submit the Organization Registration Form in WSU Involve below to finalize your registration and become an officially recognized student organization.

All clubs and student organizations must re-register at the start of each academic year to remain active on campus. Email the Student Leadership and Connection Advisor for guidance or questions about the re-registration process.

Additional forms and tools commonly used by clubs are available to support planning, travel, space requests, and purchases.

Back-to-School BBQ & Field Day These are the largest and most fun events of the year. Enjoy free BBQ, scale a rock wall, navigate an obstacle course and hang-out with fellow VanCougs!
