Minor in Psychology

Enhance Your Degree with an Understanding of Human Behavior

For students pursuing other primary majors, the minor in psychology provides an excellent opportunity to complement their main field of study with a deeper foundational knowledge of human behavior. This minor may be certified after students have been admitted to their primary major, making it a flexible asset to add to a student resources pathway. The minor requires 18 credit hours in PSYCH, of which at least 9 must be earned in WSU courses or through WSU-approved education abroad or education exchange courses.

To ensure advanced academic rigor, at least 9 credits must be completed in graded 300-400-level courses. PSYCH 105 is required for all students, and a statistics or research methods course is strongly recommended to prepare students for analyzing behavioral data. To successfully complete the minor and meet graduation requirements at WSU Vancouver, students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00 or higher in all coursework used toward the minor.
