Nomination Guidelines
Solicitation for nominations occurs during the month of February each year.

Student Achievement Award Committee members may not submit a nomination or be considered for the Student Achievement Award during their tenure of service.
Members of the Student Achievement Award Committee will serve on a rotating basis in order to serve the entire campus. The rotating positions are for three years, except for student positions #5 and #6, which are in yearly rotation, and positions #7, #8 and #9, which are permanently held by those who hold those roles at WSU Vancouver.
Nominations will be accepted via online submission form or may be directed to the chair/liaison in hard-copy form. Nominations must be received by end of business on the last day of the advertised nomination period.
The Student Achievement Award Committee will use a number of avenues to solicit nominations and bring awareness of the nomination process, including but not limited to FYI Vancouver, Cabinet, Campus Council, Council of Faculty Representatives, Vancouver Advising Committee, DAG, Associated Students of WSU Vancouver (ASWSUV) and Office of Student Involvement.
Students must be in good standing with no account of student conduct.
Members of the Student Achievement Award Committee will independently review each nomination and rank each nominee based on the award criteria.
The Student Achievement Award Committee will review individual ratings and make a recommendation to the Executive Vice President for Statewide Campus’s Award.
The Executive Vice President for Statewide Campus’s Award will select the winner.
The Student Achievement Award winner will be notified prior to the formal presentation.
The Student Achievement Award winner will be presented with the award during commencement.
An outstanding WSU Vancouver graduating student (December, May, or August), either graduate or undergraduate, will be honored at commencement by being awarded the Executive Vice President for Statewide Campus’s Award’s Award for Student Achievement. Nominations for this award are solicited from students, faculty and staff. The Student Achievement Award Committee will review nominations and make a recommendation to the Executive Vice President for Statewide Campus’s Award, who will then select the award recipient.
Specifically address each of the five criteria below in your nomination. Give detailed evidence and examples for each. The materials submitted will form the basis for the committee’s decision.
