Equal Access to Campus Facilities

WSU Vancouver is committed to providing an accessible environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. To utilize designated accessible parking spaces on campus, individuals must possess a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate. These spaces are strategically located throughout campus to ensure proximity to academic buildings and administrative offices.

If you require accessible parking but do not yet have a placard, you may obtain one through the Washington State Department of Licensing. On the WSU Vancouver campus, vehicles displaying valid disability indicators are permitted to park in any designated accessible space, at timed zones and within any parking lot.

Please note that accessibility is strictly enforced to ensure these spaces remain available for those who need them. Under Washington state law and university regulations, unauthorized use of accessible parking spots results in a $450 fine. To maintain compliance, all vehicles parked in these spaces must display both a valid disability placard and a WSU Vancouver parking permit.

Permit Requirements and Regulations

To use accessible parking on campus, you must meet the following criteria:

  • State Placard: You must legally possess a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate.
  • University Permit: You must also display a valid WSU Vancouver parking permit.
  • Permit Pricing: Accessible parking permits are available at the Gray parking zone rate.
  • Purchase: You can purchase your permit online through Parking Services.

Enforcement and Fines

Unauthorized use of accessible parking spots is a $450 fine per RCW 46.19.050 and WAC 504-19-600.
