The Recreation Office at WSU Vancouver serves as your gateway to the Pacific Northwest. Located in the Annex building, this refurbished farmhouse provides a welcoming space for students of all skill levels to connect with nature and fellow Cougs. Whether you are looking to join a guided excursion, rent high-quality equipment, or simply find a quiet place to relax away from the campus bustle, the Rec Office offers the resources and expertise to help you explore safely and confidently.

Our programs emphasize land stewardship and inclusivity, ensuring every student has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of the outdoors. With a dedicated team of student leaders and an extensive gear library, WSU Vancouver makes it affordable and accessible to hit the trails, slopes, or waterways. From disc golf on campus to mountain treks, your journey starts here.

Outdoor adventures

The Rec Office organizes activities that honor the land while building community. These adventures are designed for all experience levels and are funded by S&A fees to keep costs low for students.

Sign up for an upcoming trip

Registration for each trip will open 3 weeks before the trip date.

  • Sign up online: Log in to DSE Rec with your WSU credentials.
  • Sign up in person: Register at the Rec Office

Registration is first come, first served. Full payment is required at registration.

The Rec Office accepts payment by credit or debit card only. Cash and checks are no longer accepted.

Eligibility: Trips are for current students. If space is available, students may sponsor a non-student.

Student trip leaders

Our programs are led by Adventure Facilitators. These student leaders are trained in outdoor risk management and group dynamics to ensure safe experiences.

Disc golf course @ WSU Vancouver

Campus recreation areas

Disc golf course: Located next to the Rec Office, this 9-hole disc golf course is open to campus and community members alike. Current students, faculty and staff can rent discs at the Rec Office for free.

Walking and running trails: WSU Vancouver has six miles of Cougar trails, great for walking, running, and biking.

Gear rentals and pricing

Gear availability depends on our inventory and the season. Only current students, faculty, and staff can rent gear. We do not rent to sponsored guests, community members, alumni, or students from other WSU campuses.
