Navigating Academic Success with Attention Disabilities
Washington State University Vancouver supports students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) by providing tailored accommodations that remove barriers to learning. While the term Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) remains common in general conversation, WSU Vancouver uses the official nomenclature found in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to ensure clinical accuracy and professional support for all students.
The university provides resources designed to help students manage the unique challenges of ADHD in a higher education setting. By working with Student Accommodations and Disability Resources, students can establish a framework for success that acknowledges their diagnostic history and current functional needs. Our goal is to ensure every student has equitable access to the diverse educational opportunities available on campus.
Documentation Guidelines
To establish eligibility for services, students must submit clinical documentation to Student Accommodations and Disability Resources. You may have your healthcare provider submit a formal report or complete the official Provider Verification Form.
