The College of Arts and Sciences Advising Center at WSU Vancouver delivers comprehensive academic guidance and campus resources to support both current undergraduates and returning students.
- Registration dates and times:
- Academic Requirements Report: outlines all your degree requirements through the Academic Advising tile in myWSU.
- myWSU is WSU’s online student portal to support admissions, financial aid and academic advising. The following are some videos/instructions to help you navigate myWSU:
- Adding classes to your shopping cart/registering for classes

- Evaluate My Transfer Credit Tool: create your own unofficial transfer credit report by plugging in your courses from transfer institutions.
- Transfer Course Search Tool: search for your coursework to see how it transfers into WSU.
- Transfer Pathways (for Clark College, Lower Columbia College and Centralia College transfers): suggested associate’s degrees and major-specific transfer coursework that can be completed at Clark, LCC or Centralia colleges.
- Transfer Credit Report: evaluation of your transcripts after you apply for admission.
- Schedule of Classes: a comprehensive list of classes taught on every WSU campus.
- Course Catalog: provides an overall view of the programs and courses at WSU and the rules that pertain to admission, registration and graduation.
- Academic Calendar: outlines important dates and deadlines by academic term and campus.
- Internships
- An internship will help you gain work experience and build your professional resume.
- Orientation
- To prepare for your initial advising appointment, online orientation should be completed by all new College of Arts and Sciences students.
- Foreign language advanced placement
- Receive advanced placement credits for prior knowledge of a foreign language.
- Tutoring/academic support
- Math and Science Skills Center: Tutoring drop-in hours for math, chemistry, mechanical engineering, microeconomics, physics and statistics.
- The Writing Assessment Office is the point of contact for the following:
- Writing Placement Exam for incoming freshmen or students needing to complete English 101
- University Writing Portfolio
- Writing Center: Tutors work one-on-one to give feedback and suggestions on strengthening your writing. Visit the Writing Center to learn more.
- Supplemental Instruction: Trained peer leaders provide regularly scheduled weekly review sessions in historically challenging coursework. Specialized SI workshops are also offered throughout the semester.
- Career and major exploration
- Career Action Center (WSU Vancouver): provides career and internship fairs, career workshops and one-on-one appointments to assist you in building your resume and exploring different majors and careers.
- WSU Academic Success and Career Center (WSU system): explore careers pathways (select Explore Career Paths menu to find an option). Under each Career Pathway, select the red button to find featured resources, labor market insight, jobs/internships and videos of people describing their careers.
