Minor in Queer Studies

Advance Equity Through Queer Theory and Analysis

The minor in Queer Studies at WSU Vancouver provides a dedicated academic pathway to explore the diverse history, culture, and social structures surrounding LGBTQ+ identities. Through a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum, students analyze how sexuality and gender intersect with power, race, class, and nationality. The program empowers students to challenge systemic inequalities, examine marginalized perspectives, and contribute meaningfully to social change within local and global communities.

Graduates gain critical analytical tools that enhance any primary major, preparing them for impactful careers in advocacy, healthcare, public policy, human resources, and community leadership. By fostering deep cultural competency and advanced critical thinking, this minor equips students to build inclusive spaces in an increasingly diverse professional landscape.
