Cultivate Your Voice and Narrative Technique
A creative writing minor allows you to blend artistic expression with analytical study to complement your primary academic interests. Students at WSU Vancouver learn to engage deeply with language and narrative form. This flexible program helps you develop original creative work while refining your editing and communication skills.
About the Major
The curriculum requires students to complete a minimum of 18 hours in English courses, excluding 101 and 198. To ensure advanced development, half of these credits must be at the 300-400 level. These upper-division credits must be earned in WSU courses or through WSU-approved education abroad or educational exchange courses. Additionally, students must complete the required course, ENGLISH 302. This foundational framework supports your growth as a writer by balancing structured course requirements with creative exploration.
