Campus Police

Committed to a Safe Campus Environment

WSU Vancouver Public Safety is a fully commissioned Washington state police department dedicated to maintaining a secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Our officers work proactively to investigate crimes, evaluate campus safety conditions, and provide essential resources that support the academic mission of WSU Vancouver. Whether through active patrols or community education, we strive to ensure the campus remains a welcoming place to learn and work.

We provide a wide range of free services to all members of our community, including safety escorts to vehicles, assistance with auto-lockouts, and vehicle jump-starts. Beyond immediate physical assistance, our department offers valuable crime prevention programs, such as property engraving and community resource referrals. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and partner with us in keeping our campus safe.

Auto Prowl Prevention

Protect your property and identity by following a simple rule: remove all valuables from your vehicle.

  • Thieves can shatter a window and steal items in seconds.
  • Do not “hide” items under seats; thieves often watch people move items to the trunk.

Incidents in the Classroom

WSU Vancouver maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding acts or threats of violence. Instructors manage classroom conduct, but if behavior becomes disturbing or threatening, students should call 911 immediately.

  • Flight: If you feel unsafe, move to a secure location and report the issue.
  • Fight: As a last resort in a physically violent encounter, individuals may need to take collective action to overwhelm a threat until police arrive.
