Cougs in the Community

Get involved

WSU Vancouver organizes service projects for alumni, students and Cougars at heart to support a local nonprofit cause five to six times a year. The events are family friendly, last two to three hours and often wind up with treats. Cougs in the Community events are a great way for Cougars to support our Southwest Washington/Portland area organizations and give back to the community.

For example, Cougar teams have painted the inside of a Second Step women’s transitional home, helped at the Clark County and Oregon Food Banks, cleaned up Downtown Vancouver’s Main Street and Heritage Square, and planted trees here on campus. New service projects are happening each year.

Cougar “tailing” program

This is WSU Vancouver’s alumni/student mentoring program. We are always looking for alumni in the Southwest Washington/Portland area to team up with us to host a student on a one-day job shadow. Show current students your daily duties and help them fine tune their career choices.

Share your Cougar success story

Have you met another Cougar in your line of business? Have you made a business contact because of another WSU alumnus? Tell us about it! We are looking for those Cougs who work with other Cougs.

Speak to current students

Can you spare an hour to come to campus? We are always looking to connect alumni back to their colleges. Professors are continually looking for professionals to come speak to their current students.
