Whether you are composing effective reports, white papers, proposals, functional specifications, fact sheets or brochures, this coursework prepares you for real-world demands. In addition to specialized programs, the department manages English 402, a core technical and professional writing course that serves a diverse range of students across the campus.
Program Mission
The Technical and Professional Writing Program implements community-engaged curricula across its minor, professional science and technical writing certificate, professional writing certificate, and core coursework. Supported by local partners and multi-disciplinary faculty, the program equips undergraduates from all backgrounds, interests and majors at WSU Vancouver with the skills to ethically compose professional genres. Students write in consequential contexts where they practice active collaboration, project management and research to address diverse public and professional audiences.
