Credit Requirements

The minor in computer science consists of 19 to 20 credits. Students must earn 9 of these credits in 300-400-level courses through WSU or approved education abroad and exchange programs. All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better, and all prerequisites must be met.

Your specific course of study must be pre-approved by the computer science academic coordinator.

Required Coursework

To complete the minor, students must select courses from the following categories:

Foundational Programming

  • CS 121 or CS 251
  • CS 122 or DATA 219
  • CS 220, CS 223, CS 224, or CS 261

Electives

Students must complete 9 credits of electives. At least 6 of these credits must be 300-400 level courses with a CS prefix. Up to 3 credits may be selected from the following list:

  • DATA 319
  • ECE 324, ECE 366, or ECE 424
  • MATH 315, MATH 320, MATH 325, MATH 364, MATH 420, MATH 448, MATH 453, or MATH 466
