Legacy of Edward R. Murrow
Edward R. Murrow was a pioneer of broadcast journalism, described by colleagues as a philosopher and a great reporter. Throughout his career, he earned numerous accolades, including the Peabody Award, nine Emmy awards, and the Alfred I. DuPont Award. His work set the standard for excellence in broadcasting and journalism.
Murrow maintained a deep connection to the university, even returning to deliver a commencement address. Today, his legacy inspires the students and faculty who follow in his footsteps, striving for the same level of integrity and brilliance he displayed at CBS and beyond.
