Carson Coaching Program

Connect With Industry Professionals for Career Success

The Carson Coaching Program at WSU Vancouver bridges the gap between academic learning and professional achievement. This unique initiative pairs business students with seasoned industry mentors to accelerate career readiness. Through personalized, one-on-one guidance, participants gain critical insights into career pathways, expand their professional networks, and build the confidence necessary to thrive in the modern workplace.

Carson Coaching takes place during the spring semester, from late January through the end of April.

Students and their coach collaborate frequently to maximize the impact of the program. Pairs connect two to three times per month to discuss career strategies This consistent engagement provides vital personal support and professional socialization, equipping future leaders with a distinct advantage as they transition from college to the professional workforce.

Participants move through a structured engagement cycle designed to optimize professional growth. Participants move through an engagement program centered on their individual professional and personal goals. Students and coaches connect regularly during the spring semester to work toward those goals and strengthen career readiness.

Students who utilize professional coaching opportunities consistently report securing stronger career opportunities.

Program Details and Application Options

Students

Make connections that count! Students receive advice on career readiness skills such as resumes, networking and job searching. Open to business majors; space is limited. and participation is not guaranteed

Student qualifications:

  • Business major
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • At least 2.5 GPA
  • Attend Carson Coaching Program Kickoff event in January
  • Available to connect with mentor at least 2-3 times monthly

Impact students and their future careers! Coaches share valuable insights into their area of expertise and offer unique networking opportunities in their industry. Open to seasoned business professionals looking for volunteer positions. Applicants must complete a standard volunteer background check.
