Capital Planning and Development
Shaping the Future of Our Campus
Capital Planning and Development at WSU Vancouver directs the long-range evolution of our physical environment. Through collaborative planning and excellence in design and construction, our team manages the development of facilities and infrastructure that support the university’s unique setting. We are dedicated to the preservation of campus lands, ensuring that every project enhances the academic and research mission of the institution.
As a state institution, WSU Vancouver capital projects follow a ten-year development plan reviewed and funded by the legislature. To maintain fiscal transparency, state statutes require that operating funds and capital funds remain independent and are never used interchangeably. This strategic oversight ensures that our campus grows responsibly while maintaining the high standards expected of a premier research university.
Guidelines and policies
The department maintains rigorous standards for all physical improvements. At the Pullman office, a roster of consultants is maintained for those interested in small-scale projects and limited-scope studies. Below are the essential policies and codes that govern our campus development and space management.
