Insurance Coverage Options
Most students arrange their own insurance through one of the following providers:

No student will be refused care. Health Services provides care to all currently enrolled students regardless of insurance status. For one-on-one assistance understanding these options, the Basic Needs Navigator at the Basic Needs Resource Center can help.
Dependent coverage under the Affordable Care Act
Under the Affordable Care Act, students under age 26 may remain on a parent or guardian’s insurance policy.
Washington Healthplanfinder
Students not eligible for dependent coverage can purchase plans through the state exchange.
Apple Health (Washington Medicaid)
Free or low-cost coverage is available for students who meet specific financial criteria.
International and Graduate Student Coverage
WSU Vancouver provides specific insurance plans for:
- Graduate Student Assistants
- Professional and Graduate Health Sciences students
- International students
Aetna manages these plans. Students should enroll or manage their benefits directly through the Aetna Student Health Plan Portal.
Billing and Providers

Providers, urgent care and other services
Students with enrollment coverage provided by Aetna can find in-network providers on the Aetna website.
Washington state offers a network of community health clinics that provide services on a sliding fee scale based on income. These clinics offer primary care, dental care and mental health services. Some of these clinics are near campus.
