WSU Vancouver offers multiple pathways to explore the organization, processes and policies of the criminal justice system. The broad-based and multidisciplinary curriculum covers theories of crime and social control, research and evaluation skills in policy analysis, and critical issues in organization and management. Students gain the essential analytical tools preferred by governmental and private agencies, making this coursework highly relevant for careers in public service or for future graduate and law school education.
Academic Pathways
The criminal justice program provides comprehensive exposure to the social sciences, designed to align with the hiring preferences of both public sector agencies and private firms. Students can choose from the following paths to fit their academic goals:
- Criminal Justice Minor: A structured set of coursework designed to complement a variety of undergraduate majors.
- Social Sciences Concentration: A primary area of focus within the broader bachelor of arts in social sciences degree program.
